I’m so excited to share with you that I’ve been invited to be a guest teacher in the beautiful, online holistic workshop called Spectrum this year. What’s more, is that I have one spot to give away as part of the Give-Away Blog-Hop!
Organized by Hali Karla of Hali Karla Arts, Spectrum 2016 will be guided by 20 NEW featured teachers and more than 20 returning contributors offering a variety of workshops, inspiration and invitations – all intended to empower, nurture and celebrate your innate creative expression, healing journey, and personal development.
During the workshop (which starts May 2nd), there will be weekly inspiration & reflective activities related to mixed-media art-making and journaling, guidance on integrating your creative process and holistic awareness into your day-to-day life, and a variety of opportunities to connect, support, and share with others in the growing Holistic-Creative online community.
The themes that will loosely guide our 2016 Spectrum experience are: Forgiveness, Shifting Perspective, Navigating Uncertainty, Integration, Alchemy, Connecting with Nature, Honoring Body, Trusting Joy, Expressing One’s Truth
Talk about a powerful collection of words! You can expect a variety of perspectives on these topics and so much more. I’m excited even just to be participating in such a rich, diverse collective!

Dancing in the Unknown
For my particular offering, I decided to focus on the prompt “navigating uncertainty”.
I believe being uncomfortable with uncertainty and the unknown play a big role in our fears and how we navigate our decisions in life. From the minute everyday decisions, to the big, life-changing decisions, our fear stands in the way of us hearing our true wisdom.
But what happens when we become more comfortable with the unknown? Our fear loosens its grip, we’re more easily able to hear our intuition… our Soul, and we can make better decisions more aligned with our Soul’s purpose.
Join me, as we step into the unknown, and use creativity as a tool to expand our comfort zone with uncertainty, listen deeply within, learn to navigate our fear, and start to build trust in our inner knowing… Trust in ourselves.

Pre-registration officially opens on February 1, 2016 (and the program begins May 2). So be sure to sign up for email updates below if you want to get notified when the doors open!

This sounds spectacular! It sounds like this is above and beyond what I need to help me with my art journaling; not the art part, I guess they are connected, but with the ‘getting in touch’ part. I am 53 years old and, as a child, was never permitted emotion. I carried this with me into young adulthood as I was just trying to survive in a world I new nothing about with no role model to follow. Then into motherhood, where I didn’t know what I felt, but had to teach children that feeling were okay. Anyway! Kids are on their own and here I am trying to journal about my life and loving the art. I would love to attend! I didn’t even look at the cost yet, but will put away a buck or two for May! Put me in the drawing for a Free Pass, too! Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
Just followed you on Instagram, too!
Winning a spot in Spectrum 2016 would be so awesome – after the difficult year I had in 2015 from suffering a brain aneurysm. I would like to learn new ways to let my mind get away and express myself thru art. I will share on FB this workshop. I hope to win. Thank you for the opportunity to enter.
What a wonderful opportunity, I would love to join in. As a type A, control obsessed artist this could really help me loosen up and enjoy the process! Thanks for the chance to win!
I am following you on Instagram as well !!!
This course looks so wonderful – I’m taking a few other online art journaling courses, but they are more focused on techniques. I love that Spectrum is also looking into the more heart & soul aspects of it. Your session sounds particularly intriguing, as I have been faced with some unknowns recently. I tried to Tweet, but got a ‘service is unavailable’ error (I’ll try again later) – I did pin to my Pinterest board!
Thanks. I shared on Pinterest. Would love to win the free spot. Have been pretty cut off from my creative expression – stuck in a rut and seeking ways to get “re-inspired”.
I pinned, I followed you on instagram and I love the topic you picked, perfect for me today, new unknowns are popping up all over the place.
Love this opportunity to be a part of Spectrum.
Thank you so much for this, I just shared on Pinterest: https://nl.pinterest.com/riyamelgert/awesome/
I would love to win a spot in Spectrum, because without income I simply can’t affort it right now. And after not having painted or journaled for more then two years, except at the beginning from each year, I need this change. I need to find my creative soul and spirit back and this is the perfect place for me. I am ready to face this challenge.
Sadly I am not yet on IG but I did share on Fb and G+
I am dealing with a ton of uncertainty and fear at the moment but the key is I am dealing with it and would love support.
I have a very creative spirit that has been pushed back and left behind but I want to show it the light and allow it to have fun.
I would love to join this class, it is an opportunity to grow in more than one direction. Looking forward to getting started. Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in this class. Peace, Ronda
Following you on Instagram!
This looks like such a great experience! I am also following you on instagram!
As I develop my art pieces I will begin to wonder what my viewers see. What story am I sharing. Attending spectrum would help me to listen more fully to the voice inside me. Life brings soul wisdom. I want to convey this wisdom through my art.
Sharing on FB.
Spectrum sounds awesome. I’ve just retired, after teaching kindergarten for 38 years. I’m feeling lost and looking for new inspiration. Your particular offering seems like the perfect vehicle for exploring my uncertainty! I would love to join you and the other artists in this journey.
I took the previous Spectrum class and loved it. What intrigues me this time is that it’s going to be a dedicated site instead of the pdf with links. I’d really love to win a free spot in the class.
I love art journaling but am unable to participate in groups in my community because I have a traumatic brain injury. I would love to be part of this course because I love art and would like belong to a group of like minded artists. I am following you on Instagram
Hi! I would love to take my inner journey deeper with a spot in this course. Followed you on Instagram!
Much Love,
Jess
I am intrigued and inspired by the topics and the diversity of the teachers – much to stretch my growing edges! I’ll be following you on Instagram.
I keep setting down my art, so this year in 2016 I’m commuting to make art every day, and this course is an amazing chance to connect with other artists, create great art and journal entries. I’m excited about this opportunity, and cannot wait for May.
See everyone in May,
Jamie
I hope to win a free spot. I shared on FB Since I can never think of journal prompts–this class is the solution!!!
Hi delightful, As my 40th birthday approaches (Feb 2nd), I’d love to participate in this course as a way to celebrate and invite the next part of the journey with joy and grace. :) Thanks so much for the opportunity to win a spot – Shared on pinterest as well. Blessings, Julia
I have been on a physical healing journey for the last 16 years. Over the past 6 years, I understand that this journey is not only one of physical healing but of emotion, spirit, and soul. Over the past couple of months, I found myself lost on this journey. I believe that some of the topics covered in your course would be the ‘compass’ that I need to help me find my way to being 100% healed, such as Forgiveness, Shifting Perspective, Navigating Uncertainty, Connecting with Nature, Honoring Body, Trusting Joy, and Expressing One’s Truth; actually all the topics spoke to my soul. I appreciate your kindness in hosting this giveaway. I shared on Pinterest and am following you on IG.

:-)
I’m very interested in “navigating the incertainty” + “integration” themes, as I feel a link between the two them for me to work with. AND I feel I could benefit some artistic skills sometimes, which I lack most of the time.
Thank you for offering this opportunity to participate :-)
I just can’t seem to get enough of this type of e-course, with many different teachers & views. I’m learning so much!
… just followed you on Instagram (ImageAwards) :)
I would love to win your FREE spot in this course, because it combines heart and art. Art has been my refuge since being diagnosed with a rare, terminal brain disease in 2013. It keeps me sane! Thanks for the opportunity!
Shared on Pinterest and followed you on Instagram. I just discovered Spectrum and it looks like the perfect combination of art and heart work. I haven’t been art journaling long but have found that I really enjoy combining introspection with my creativity, so Spectrum would be a fun, inspirational, creativity journey!
Oh my goodness Kristal, I saw your face in the Spectrum teacher line up, together with all the other teachers, who wouldn’t want to be part of it?! ha ha ha. and why? because I want to learn how to express myself more through art. I share in pinterest also :)
I am also following you on instagram @alifefullofpassions
I’ve always loved art journaling and I’m always eager to learn more. I think you could inspire me so much. I’ve been following you on Instagram for a while and I pinned on Pinterest.
I would love to be a part of the class because I am on a journey of healing and I feel this would open so many doors to that healing. I’m tired of being afraid of uncertainty and I want to embrace it instead.
Hi, I’ve been looking at Spectrum for a couple of years now wishing I could take it. It looks so amazing. I really need to get out of my head and follow my heart, find out what it has to say, ( it seems to have forgotten how) and this looks like the perfect offering. Thanks so much.
I shared on Pinterest, followed you on Instagram and signed up for your newsletter (because I was happy to discover you and want to keep up). I would love to win a spot on Spectrum because all of the topics really resonate with where I am in my Spiritual and creative journey right now. Thanks for this chance, I would be so grateful to win.
Pinned (Serena Kuma) and followed on IG (Kuma_Crossing). Signed up for newsletter. I love the new layout of Soectrum 2016, I find it intriguing ;-) very exciting. Thanks for the chance to win.
I am sooooooo ready for something like this. Blossoms@50 is now 51. Best I move along my creative heartfelt calling. Namaste. I followed you on Instagram Kristal ?
I’m just beginning my art journal adventure. I would love all the inspiration you have to share and hope to learn to calm my anxiety monster within.
This is an amazing opportunity to learn about something I have always admired but have only recently begun to practice. I believe in learning from those who are inspired to teach with love and appreciation for the art as well as their students. I would love the opportunity to experience these amazing sounding classes. I have just begun my journaling and have found it healing and a huge part of self discovery. but my ability and understanding is limited. I feel these classes would assist in expanding my ability as well as my mind, heart and craft.
Pinned, twitted and Instagramed
I still work in the journal I made in your first class on journaling so am often reminded how you helped me fight off that inner critic.
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to be apart of this adventure. You have officially been pinned. :) (Keys 4 education).
I shared on Pinterest and also followed you on instagram. I’d love to be a part of this class as I feel I’ve only touched on the healing aspects of art and I’d love to learn more.
I am intrigued by the healing and spiritual nature of the art making process and look forward to diving deeper into this process. I hope to win a spot! Thanks!
Hi Kristin,
When I first learned about mix media art I couldn’t get enough of learning about it. I found you and ordered your introduction series to learn how. I must have read and watched the videos several times before diving in. I loved how ‘real’ and ‘open’ you were about your story and how you worked through it. I had never read anything like it before and I realized I could do it. There was definitely a hesitancy with me in jumping in and afraid of the bright white page that laid before me. I like the prompt ‘navigating uncertainty’ and think it’s pretty cool that you chose this. I think it falls in line w/your blog posts which I respect so much, because FEAR can paralyze you. And Fear has been much a part of my life that has prevented me from doing many things that I am capable of doing. I think this is perfect timing. I have grown so much last year jumping into the ‘unknown’ and it all began with your website and my first two journals I made for my daughter who went abroad. If my name does not get selected, I still just want to ‘thank you’ for being so raw with your journey and your art. Blessings.
Kristal, please forgive me I called you Kristin. I do know your name. I have a friend named Kristin. :)
I am recovering from PTSD and with that comes all kinds of uncertainties throughout the healing process. Having a spot would allow me another way to work through those uncertainties and become better equipped to handle this journey to wholeness.
Fear of the unknown has kept me from making much needed decisions throughout my life. I am once again petrified of an upheaval coming in my life, but this change I know will better benefit the ones I love. I have taken to journaling in the last month as a way to clear my mind of it’s noisy chatter and find that creating is also helping to fill a void in me. Thank you for this opportunity. I have shared on Twitter.
Dear Kristal, I pinned your 101 Creative Journaling Prompts onto my “Journaling” board on Pinterest. Thank you for this opportunity to win a place in “The Spectrum”! Ohhhh, I can hardly wait to see what unfolds. The prospect of support for my creative journey makes my heart smile and gives me encouragement to continue.
Hi Kristal! I’m following you on Instagram and I have pinned to Pinterest! I’m grateful for the opportunity to win a spot in Spectrum. It looks like a wonderful way to help me on my creative journey. Thank you!
I have shared on Twitter. :) I want to join spectrum because I had a miscarriage last year and this year is about healing for me. From that awfulness and some unhelpful patterns and cycles and I think the course would support the personal work I am doing and give me space and inspiration to play. Which I need as well.
