Oh, I’m loving this! I had to hop on to comment on your remark about yourself–because it’s the very same for me, and it’s so fun–that is, that I’m a perfectionist in real life but love to be messy in my crafting projects, especially art journals. I’ve only been playing with “art” for about a year (I’m 65), and it’s so neat to discover this “side” of me. To be random and unstructured and messy, in at least this one area of my life–has, I believe, added a dimension to my life! This is the first time I have watched one of your videos–I get your newsletter, but I’m just now catching up with my hobby life, since the holidays! Love this!!!
Oh it’s wonderful, isn’t it… being able to let loose and feel free once in a while?! lol
Enjoyed your creative process. Not sure why I feel so stalled starting, but now I’m feeling a little more inclined to create today. Thank you!
Oh goodie! I hope I inspired you to create today Theresa! :)
This must be the vid you were talking about on your FB about having too much talking. Nahhhh I like the talking, it’s fun to watch someone as they decide what to do next. I really like how this one turned out. Great colors and I like your stamps with the tape :)
Yes, it is! haha I was even talking through the parts I fast forwarded, and some parts I had to cut. Otherwise it would have been an hour long video! lol It will take some practice to think of the final film while I’m creating. Glad you liked it though! :)
Loved how it came out! Loved your color scheme and how you used those cut outs! Hey! I have a punched out card stock but it does not look as great as yours turned out! Hahahaha!
Thanks Nydia! OH mine’s not perfect either. hehe
Thanks for taking us through your process Kristal – love seeing how you get from the “blank page” to a finished work of art!
I have a question for you – did I spy wax paper between your art journal pages? Does that keep them from sticking together or is it to remind you of unfinished pages? Just curious! :)
Thanks!
Yup, that’s wax paper! We live by the ocean, so it’s pretty humid around here and my pages stick like crazy. I’ve had a few panicked moments when I had to peel pages apart and ruin a few spots on the page.. so for now I keep wax paper in between every page until I can figure out how else to keep them from sticking. It’s a pain in the butt!
I loved watching you create this…It was fun. A couple of questions, what material do you use for stamps that you make? Actually, I only had that one question and wanted to tell you of a website where they do testing on products…Maybe you know it, “Craft Test Dummies” http://www.crafttestdummies.com/
Below is the actual site where she tested the pens. I too am having the same problem with the white pens, the white out I have tried as well. I also saw somewhere where Sharpie has an awesome white marker of some kind.

Never heard of that site, thanks Denise! I too heard of the white sharpie, but haven’t bought one yet… I’ll be at Staples tomorrow, so maybe they have one there! As far as the stamp material, I use a Speedy-Cut rubber block made for stamp carving. Click HERE to see it at Blick’s.
Your workstation looks like mine! LOL. Someone just gave me the silver, bronze and white Sharpies! Very cool. Just started following your blog! Love your video demonstrations!
