New here and wondering what’s going on? Busy Mom VS Daily Grind is all about making the dedication to do something every day that will help you live a happier, more fulfilling life. I have committed to document my journey of developing the habits of living moment by moment, being grateful, and bringing self expression + creativity into every day. Read more about the challenge HERE.
It’s Day 15! I can’t believe I’m halfway through this crazy journey already.
It’s been tough, amazing, inspiring, and tiring.
In the beginning, I thought bringing creativity into everyday would be my toughest challenge. Even though there were some days where I had to force myself to create, I haven’t missed a single day. I find creativity flowing through me and it feels amazing.
It’s the being present, and living moment by moment that I’m finding tough. I’ve had my ups and downs, and I’m wondering if it will always be a struggle, or if it will ever get easier. Only time will tell.
If you’ve missed anything, here are some highlights of my journey so far:
Day 1 – A rocky beginning, and learning about how our minds remember the negative experiences more easily than the good.
Day 3 – Scrappy Tags Tutorial!
Day 5 – Finding the key to fighting the daily grind.
Day 8 – Stressful beginner’s syndrome
Day 9 – Winning a losing battle – “staying in the moment”
Day 10 – Kids Keepsake Magnets Tutorial!
I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement throughout all of this. I was so scared to start this journey, but I am loving every moment of it.
To celebrate my half way mark, I will be sending a gift to three lucky winners!
Gift #1: A set of five of my scrappy tags.
Gift #2: One of my original paintings on a mini canvas. It’s a mere 3″x3″!
Gift #3: A one of a kind mini composition notebook that I painted today. It’s only 3.25″x4.5″!

NEED the Daily Grind … today was one tough day for a myriad of reasons. Just returned from the grocery where an elderly man fell in the parking lot. Several of us helped, and the police and EMTs came. It was incredibly sad as he reminded me so much of my dad toward the end of his life. But here’s the positive – several of us did help. and one helper was a young man, pierced and tatooed all over, who came immediately to give aid. The kind of young person who might be looked at askance by the oldsters. The goodness of people shines through in the tough times.
Not a cheery comment, and I apologize for that. But my point, long though it took to come along, is that it there’s almost always a nugget of shiny good in the dark. It can be hard some days, but those nuggets are the important part!
I’m done. Jeez.
