About

Hi there! I’m Kristal, a multi passionate artist obsessed with texture, a creativity inspirationalist, creative explorer, wife, and mom to a moody, yet kind artistic tween, a fiercly independent toddler whose theory is that everything mommy says is wrong, and a curious baby who has no meaning of the word nap.

My mission is to inspire and empower busy women like you to to live a happier, more fulfililng life through creativity.

Because I believe creativity is essential to our being. Its not some magical quality that only some possess, its a trait that we are all born with. Your soul is just patiently waiting for you to use it.

As a busy mom of three little ones, I know how easy it is to let life take over and get caught up in the daily grind. You push your dreams and desires to the back burner. You start to lose a sense of who you truly are. It’s a fast track to depression. That’s why with my blog I hope to help you turn off your auto pilot and awaken to your true being. I want to help you make time for yourself, get over your fears of creating, live life with open eyes, bring creativity into your everyday, and inspire you to create freely.

A few years ago, I found myself feeling stuck, depressed, deflated, like a walking ghost. But I had everything I wanted… a loving family, a supporting husband, and even a business selling my art. People loved my creations; I was featured in magazines, and even on TV.

But creating the art was starting to become part of my daily grind. I was creating the same items over and over again because people were buying them. It turned into another 9-5 job, and I started to live more and more on auto pilot; not only with my work, but while taking care of my family too. I was suffering on the inside, and I didn’t even know it.

I finally came to the realization that I was feeling suffocated, like I was locked up in a cage. I wanted to feel free. I felt a deep yearning to simply create what my heart desired. So I quit. I stopped selling my art and began to focus more on myself and my family. I fought as hard as I could to wake up and get out of the daily grind.

But relearning how to create freely is tough. It takes courage, strength, and support. You have to battle endless obstacles like your inner critic, resistance, fear, and time. And doing it when you feel alone, can seem impossible.

That’s why on one particularly lonely day, I decided to drag a friend into my journey and teach her a craft. It turned out to be the beginning of an amazing transformation not only for me, but for her as well. Creativity became a part of her everyday, and she was becoming a true artist before my eyes.

I knew I’ve always had the love for helping people, but seeing her come to life like that felt so fulfilling. It made me all warm inside knowing I had a hand in helping her discover a new passion and live happier because of it. I knew then what my mission would be. I wanted to help other women wake up from the slumber of the daily grind, become true to themselves and live happier, more fulfilling lives through creativity.

Discovering the pure joy of creating freely is a magical gift that can change anyone’s life. Without the new found support of my friend, the battles to get here would have been tougher, perhaps even impossible to conquer alone. So with my website and blog, I not only want to inspire and empower you with stories from my journey and what I have learned along the way to help you discover your own creative freedom; but I also want to offer it as a gathering place for fellow travelers to commune, share stories, inspire each other, and cheer each other on. Because no one likes to travel alone.

Your dream to live a happier, more fulfiling life is within reach. And it can all begin with the simple step of picking up a pencil or paintbrush. We are all born with limitless creativity. Your urge to create is your birthright. It’s your time to shine. Are you ready for this journey?

“One life on this earth is all that we get, whether it is enough or not enough, and the obvious conclusion would seem to be that at the very least we are fools if we do not live it as fully and bravely and beautifully as we can.” ~Frederick Buechner
